RIBA Chartered Practice

Services & Fees

Services

The RIBA publishes a lot of useful guidance on working with an Architect. We work to the RIBA plan of work and generally act as lead consultants from inception to completion.

We tailor our level of service and fees to individual projects; we offer design consultations, feasibility studies, space planning, planning applications, interior and furniture design, building control drawings, tender and construction drawings, specification writing and contract administration.

We also offer design and build, retrofit coordination, construction and project management services (through Green and Teggin Projects LTD).  We offer consultancy / technical retainer services and problem-solving site visits for self-build projects.

As registered architects, we are obliged to maintain professional indemnity insurance for six years covering all our advice. We are also obliged to act according to the Architect’s Code of Conduct.

We feel strongly that our involvement in a project should not end at completion of the build; it is very important to us to understand what is and what isn’t successful over the longer term.  We offer inspection and maintenance advice on all our completed projects, usually for free.

Fees & Estimates

We usually base our fees on a percentage of the build cost, however, we are happy to work to capped hourly rates for sections of work (please see Working with an Architect for your home by the RIBA).

We provide realistic initial estimates for project costs and programmes, and we improve on these with external quantity surveyor estimates as jobs progress.  We do not provide over-optimistic estimates to win work.

Consultants & Contractors

We have close and long-term working relationships with various consultants, specialist subcontractors and local main contractors, who provide excellent levels of service and value for money for our clients.
