Project Management
We then produce the detailed drawings and specifications required to obtain accurate quotes from contractors, and manage the process of obtaining quotes and agreeing a building contract.
During the construction stages we will administer a contract between you and your chosen contractor, ensuring to the best of our ability that the project is completed to the level of quality specified, on time and to budget.
After completion we review the project as necessary, and ensure contractors return to put right any defects. We are also happy to provide ongoing maintenance advice.
We find many clients are confused about what a project manager actually does. The term project manager is often incorrectly used to describe a builder who doesn’t employ his own labour (i.e. who manages subcontractors). We think this massive oversimplification, and that a Project Manager should be fully involved throughout the design and the construction phases of a job.
In the pre-construction stages we will provide you with a design, we will re draft and refine that design until you are happy, we will inform you of any other consultants required, we will produce drawings suitable for submission to the Planning Authority, we will liaise with the planners and building control to achieve consents as required, we will coordinate any other information required from other consultants (we work with a tried and tested team of engineers and party wall surveyors etc).
